Award-winning Texas blues guitarist has played professional blues and funk-rock guitar since 1990,  opening for BB King, Joe Bonamassa, Jeff Beck, George Thorogood, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Jimmie Vaughn and many more

Bio

Vince Converse, an award-winning Texas blues guitarist, has played professional blues and funk-rock guitar since 1990. Originally from Houston Texas, his 33-year career started fresh out of high school when he signed a deal and proved himself a big dog on the Lone-Star-State blues scene.

Touring internationally, his band Sunset Heights, was wildly successful and he made a name for himself by the age of 23.

Over the years, he has worked with industry icons such as Pete Brown (Cream), Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix -producer) and cut heads with some heavy hitters- not to mention opening for legends like BB King, Joe Bonamassa, Jeff Beck, George Thorogood, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Jimmie Vaughn, Tab Benoit, Sammy Hagar, The Mississippi Allstars, Taj Mahal, Keb' Mo', Robert Cray (Little Feat), Lynyrd Skynyrd, Canned Heat, The Yardbirds, Peter Green, The Animals, and more.

In the studio, he has recorded and been featured on releases with Jeff Beck, Gary Moore, Leslie West, The Delaware Destroyers, and Tommy Mandel to name a few. His latest album is Vince Converse and Friends, and features Nathaniel Peterson, Buddy Whittington, Jim Suhler, and more.

He has played some of the country’s iconic venues, including: Red Rocks Amphitheater, Cynthia Woods Pavilion, Fillmore West, Fiddler’s Green, and The Famous Antone’s in Austin Texas - as well as hundreds of venues and festivals around the world.

Stronger and more inspired than ever, Vince is finally putting together the music he “has always wanted to create” with his band, Vince Converse and Big Brother, who deliver a dose of gritty, guitar-driven blues, served with a twist of funk. Channeling legends like: BB King, Albert King, Freddie King, and Albert Collins, Converse draws from his Texas Bluesman past, and captivates and seduces with bold guitar licks, intoxicating slide, and timeless, searing solos. This band’s chemistry is infused with rock, jazz and soul, drizzled with a hint of southern country, and spritzed with latin sound. Blending world-class talent, traditional standards, and modern inspiration, these Denver, Colorado gents serve up delicious, big-mountain blues.

Vince’s jaw-dropping guitar solos, hypnotic slide sections, and electrifying arrangements create a truly one-of-a-kind blues experience.

In addition to his band, Vince is also a member of The Rick Lewis Project, featuring a variety of Denver’s top musicians. His new album, Vince Converse and Friends (2023), is a rock-infused, classic blues collaboration that will leave you wanting more. In June of 2023, he was featured on the album, Texas Scratch, featuring Jim Suhler and Buddy Whittington.

Most recently, Vince Converse and Big Brother won the Colorado Blues Society competition, and were semifinalists at the International Blues Challenge in Nashville in January 2024.
